Jordan W. Wutkee: Fontana, California, United States; After high school, I had the opportunity to work for over two and a half years as a traveling, on-call bank teller, a job which took me to over a dozen cities in San Bernardino, Riverside, Orange, and Kern Counties. My Personal Interests

I enjoy mexican food, and I also love oranges, so California is perfect.

I was born in Westlake Village, California, in 1989. I was raised to age 14 in Moorpark, in California's sublime Ventura County. At that age, it became necessary for my family to move clear across to the other side of the Los Angeles megalopolis to Fontana, San Bernardino County.

I'm a student of architecture and urban planning. I own dozens of books on the two subjects. I appreciate most modern styles of architecture, especially art deco and spanish revival, which one can often find in Southern California, sometimes even combined in a single building, such as LA Union Station, or the Catalina Casino. As for more traditional styles, I like the Neoclassical architecture of Washington, D.C. and most state capitals, and especially the work of Thomas Jefferson at the University of Virginia. I also like the strong and resilient civic forms of Richardsonian Romanesque buildings. I tend to disagree with the rationale of mid-20th century Modernism, and only really like it in Ludwig Mies Van der Rohe's skyscrapers in New York and Toronto. I like the more refined examples of postmodernism. I'm always in awe of the immense, glassy superskyscrapers of Asia.

I'm a fan of electronic music, from the 1970's onward. I've found that I especially enjoy the work of european artists like Tangerine Dream, Boards of Canada, Vangelis, Daft Punk, Depeche Mode, and Jean Michele Jarre. I am also fond of Arcade Fire, U2 and Rush.

I have a few specific interests in literature. I'm a voracious reader, but I have a horrible habit of buying a book, reading halfway through it, and then buying two more, which ends up creating a stack of twelve next to my bed, all being worked on a chapter at a time. I read political/historical nonfiction, adventure fiction, science fiction, legal/cop thrillers (Crais, Connelly), atlases(I LOVE maps), and religious works.

My faith is certainly the most important aspect of my life. It truly defines me more than anything else I do. I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I am a Mormon. I was born and raised into this faith, but I found out on my own what it really means to me, on my knees one night in November, 2006. I prayed to God for an answer to my natural doubts, whether all that I had been taught was really true. Reader, I promise you that the love and comfort I felt immediately during this prayer made me more sure of this than anything else in my life, even more than anything I could experience by the normal senses. The Book of Mormon is a work of truth, brought forth by Joseph Smith, a prophet of the Lord. I testify from my own experience that anyone who reads it humbly and prayerfully, sincerely seeking answers to the confusions of life, will find them, and will know real happiness.
